Frequently Asked Questions

  • New Jersey is a direct access state, which means you can see a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a physician.

This allows you to begin physical therapy in Wayne, NJ quickly and without unnecessary delays. Early evaluation and treatment can often prevent a short-term injury from becoming a long-term, chronic issue.

If you have recently experienced an injury, are dealing with persistent pain, or have an upcoming event that you want to participate in comfortably, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to schedule an evaluation.

  • We recommend starting with a brief phone consultation with one of our physical therapists. During this call, we will learn more about your concerns and determine whether physical therapy is the right fit for you.

If we believe treatment will be beneficial, we will review what to expect at your first visit, discuss your goals, and outline the next steps in your recovery process.

  • Due to the one-on-one nature of our clinic, we are unable to accommodate walk-ins. However, we can typically offer same-day or next-day appointments when you call.

Our goal is to provide focused, individualized care to every patient without rushing your visit.

  • We understand that schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice will be charged the full session fee and are non-refundable.

  • Every patient has a unique history and set of goals. During your initial evaluation, we take a comprehensive approach, assessing not just the area of pain but the entire movement system.

We focus on identifying the root cause of your discomfort rather than simply treating symptoms. Pain is often a signal that something in the body needs attention or adjustment.

After your assessment, your physical therapist will design a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and performance goals, helping you return to an active lifestyle safely and efficiently.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated.

Loose-fitting shorts or athletic pants are recommended. Female patients should bring or wear a sleeveless shirt or tank top if shoulder or upper body treatment is expected. Proper attire allows your physical therapist to accurately assess and treat muscles, joints, and movement patterns.

  • Physical therapy is not an overnight fix, and progress requires active participation. However, many patients begin noticing improvement within the first few visits.

Most patients are seen once per week, typically ranging between 5 to 10 visits depending on the condition and goals. Significant improvement is often observed within 3 to 5 sessions.

Because every injury and individual is different, it is not possible to determine the exact number of visits without an in-person evaluation. That is why we offer a Free Total Body Assessment to help you understand what is happening, what your treatment plan may look like, and what timeline you can expect before committing to care.

Our treatment process generally follows three phases:

    1. Reduce pain and discomfort

    2. Address and correct the underlying issue

    3. Build resilience and promote independence to prevent recurrence

  • The cost of physical therapy depends on the individualized treatment plan recommended after your evaluation.

Once your physical therapist outlines your plan of care, we will review pricing options and answer any questions so you can make an informed decision.
